The new 2009 Acura TL is also safer than ever, with a Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) system that monitors stability factors to detect oversteer or understeer, and if one is detected, various TL systems step in to avoid the problem and keep the vehicle stable. The response is so quick that the instability may be corrected before the driver even knows it’s occurring. Additionally, the Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect if the occupant is a child or small-statured adult.
